Hi,
Im new to this forum but not to pf tek growing.  I want to switch to bags and in order to make things easier for me Im going to spring for the mycodome because its easy to regulate and my house is cold and dry (I have asthma so I have to keep it this way).  My question is, if I buy a mushbox rye bag, and inoculate with cubensis, do I have to take the mycelium log out of the bag and roll and dunk it, or are the bags meant to be fruited in.  Also, what are the benefits of dunking in the fridge as opposed to rm temp. ?  Thanks for any info you can give me on this I want to get it right the first time.

Speaking from personal experience, the mycodome is an overpriced piece of shit :-D

What temperature do you keep your house at?  cold/hot is a relative term, it's around 50-55f in my house right now, I only heat my mushroom-room generally.

If you buy a mushbox bag it will probably contaminate.

Try a shroomery sponsor for your spores and other things.
You should invest in a PC instead of the mycodome and buy some bags. Make your own bags.

Dunking in the fridge is worthless. Don't do it.

I agree. Fuck the mycodome. Also, those bags aren't meant to be fruited in the bag. Rye alone won't hold enough moisture to give you decent fruits. If you're looking for invitro bags, go with TMS grow bags-  http://themadseason.com/growbags.asp

So far Ive learned that buying anything premade over $20 is pretty much worthless and a mistake.  I spent about $50 buying premade crap and I ended up throwing it ALL out cause I didnt come here first.  I ended up broke and barely able to buy brown rice and new spores... that $50 could have helped me get a PC and some Vermiculite but instead Im just doing brown rice lol.  Seriously, do everything yourself.  You gotta baby those babies!

Thanks for the help.  I really like that site and those bags, there is less substrate in them, but I think the mix is going to be easier and more convenient, especially since it will let me fruit in the bag, dunk and roll and then get a second flush.  My house is about 68 degrees so I will take the guest bathroom and put a space heater in it.  I am doing Creepers.  Its my first time with these, I usually do P. trops, but I want to try a big mushroom.  Does anyone know what the incubation and fruiting temps for Creepers are, I'm having trouble finding a reliable source online.  Again, thanks for the link, you saved me a bundle of money.

68 is fine for colonization.  Might even get away with fruiting.  Worst case, you heat it up like 5 degrees and you're good to go.

I keep my room 70-75 most of the time.
