I remember back in the 20th century, me and my friends went to central park to smoke lots of blunts for exploration enhancement. So we saw this chill dude with a farmers hat with a shoulder strapped sign that WARNED about the cellphones being damaging to humans. We spoke, we toked. Good times.

Rads are an obsolete measuring unit and its continued use of the rad is "strongly discouraged" by the author style guide of the US National Institute of Standards and Technology.

The new unit to measure how much radiation an object has absorbed is the gray.

A person using a cell phone absorbs 0 grays of radiation into their head because cell phones are not radioactive.

RF radiation absorption levels are measured using the specific absorption rate (SAR), a unit that measures how much RF energy is absorbed by the body.  In order to get a FCC license, a phone's maximum SAR level must be less than 1.6 watts per kilogram.

Most of the people who are worried about cell phone radiation are hippies who have no idea how they work.  Its the same folks that are afraid of microwaves.

Aye, I just about slapped my grandparents for buying special 'radiation reducing' crystals to glue to the back of their phones... laughable.
I haven't really gotten used to the use of grays yet, I don't see whats wrong with rads :frown:

Yeah, please kids .. lets NOT confuse ionizing radiation (nuclear decay) with EMF radiant energy (such as cellular phones, cordless phones, microwaves, and WiFi wireless - all of which operate at ~2.4GHz).
