Yes, I see your point and agree that nobody should have to pay for spiritual guidance.  That being said, even you pay a monthly internet bill for your access to everything you've learned over the years.  We're all paying. Participating in the information age has a price but we all pay willingly, it's worth it.  My point above though is that whether or not a piece of information is free or costs 50 bucks, that has nothing to do with the amount of truth/knowledge/wisdom it contains.  There will be patterns but no absolutes.

I'm not bashing bashar, there is no way that I can 'just listen to his message' if he charges so much.



I get what you are saying, but commercialism isn't bad.  If you have information that helps people why not sell it and live well?  Same as if you make cars, why not sell your labor and live well?  But I totally agree. If I could produce good infromation, I would make it known publicaly, either through scientific study or through just releasing it.  Once you demonstrate your powers you will get more buisness or more attention.  This is in your interest whether you want money or to help people, so I don't see why he wouldn't do this, and like you, I'm skeptical.


I think the problem is a lack of any testable claims.  If this guy is legit there are two realities:

1.  He can improve people's lives in measurable and real ways related to real and testable knowledge he's communicating and not just a feel-good vibe

or

2.  He does not make testable claims.


If 1. is the case then it should be easy to at least identify what he is claiming if not test these, and if 2 is the case then he seem worthless.  Lets say he is a prophet but is in category 2.  What good is he?  If he can't tell you anything that can be measured then he can't tell you anything worth more than a feel good vibe.  If this is the case you're better off praying to a water fountain or tarot cards or something.


All these guys seem to make vague statements that can't even be identified precisely enough to be tested- or they can't make claims that are testable at all.  If the claims are not testable then they are worthless.


I don't get his deal with the DMT either.  What evidence does he have that DMT does any of the stuff he claims?  And if it does, so what?  What benifit is this knowledge.  I just don't see why you'd invest in this guy's methods for anything other than entertainment if he can't give any infromation worth anything.


I don't know much about him, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

while on the topic is it that a DMT documentary is underway (same name as Strassman's book?) or was there ever only a short clip? I liked what that braided long haired female doctor was saying about it being medicine with capital M etc.

thanks for posting the second video. I really needed just that as I've been struggling with my spontanious disbelief for this guy everytime I watch him do his thing, mixing soft and rolling r:s and coming off as so overly theatrical.

I think about whether to believe or not the thing might be that you'll never sit firmly on any means of convictions other than personal experience and prejudice.

our scientists want us to believe in plate tectonics but not even they have any personal experience of this phenomenon, let alone we who swallow that quite questionable idea as long established facts.

if it turns out to be a faulty theory (read lie xD), that conviction you lent it turns out to have been prejudice.

if it turns out to be correct or in the meantime before either is proven, lending your conviction will still equal prejudice.

the only way out of that dilemma is not to make up your mind. stay neutral and open and at the same time question everyth... sorry x) I'm preaching.

in any case I've found that any convincing material is convincing for me because either it falls under my belief system (then pretty useless as it doesn't change me) or because it's a strong concept. a sensational idea (something you could write cool fiction off of). and as the latter it will inspire me and expand my views and I think education is just th... craps! *shutting up*
