Heroin dealers arrested in Cheyenne Mountain H.S. investigation

Colorado Springs police are investigating a "significant" heroin problem at Cheyenne Mountain High School, with Mexican nationals and former students under arrest for selling the drug to students.

Police were tipped off to the problem by a student who had been contacted by the school's resource officer for possessing Xanex and a fake ID, said Lt. David Whitlock, police spokesman.

Whitlock would not say how many students are believed to be using heroin, but said it was a "significant" amount of students spread in all grades, ninth through 12th.

He would not say whether the drug, called black tar heroin, was sold or used on school grounds.

So far, none of the students identified as users have been arrested, but their parents have been notified by the school and "services have been provided to facilitate intervention related to the drug usage."

"There is a fine line between a witness and a suspect in dealing with the users," Whitlock said.

District 12 Superintendent Walt Cooper did not return a call seeking comment.

Friday, the district sent a letter to parents notifying them of the investigation.

The dark and sticky black tar heroin is a potent form of the drug trafficked through Mexico and is generally smoked or dissolved, diluted and injected, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration's Web site.

District 12 is one of the most affluent school systems in the Pikes Peak region.

Wow!  And i always thought Widefield would take the cake for drug rings...

At least this one is legit.  My school tried to dick me on a "Coricidin/weed" drug ring that i supposedly had.  PSH!  I was to busy taking all the shit for myself to try and push it on others!  Sucks when your friends mom is security and you somehow are able to be connected with every drug bust at school >_<

Guess i know what school i need to visit for my re-up this christmas...

dude when I went to Doreghty, i used to slang e at cheyenne mt high.. those rich fucks paid 35 dollars a pill... never really felt bad for ripping them off though.
