The body is very good at regulating optimum calcium levels.  In the event of hypercalcemia the thyroid gland secretes hormones which tell osteoclasts to start absorbing calcium from bones into the bloodstream, and inversely an excess of calcium triggers osteoblasts to start depositing calcium to repair and strengthen bones.

This was brought to you by your friendly neighborhood "I have a final on this in 20 minutes" college student.  If I mixed up osteoclasts and osteoblasts I'm going to fail.

You should try not to get hypercalcemia mixed up with HYPOcalcemia either... :smirk:

I can only imagine how terrible it would be to put your foot down only to use the middle of your shin as a foot.

It's also your PARAthyroid, not your thyroid.

thyroid hormone regulates metabolism and synthetic catabolic function.

what amazes me about corey hill is he's 6' 5" fighting at 155

he's the same height as me and Alistair overeem and we both weigh around 230.... i couldnt even imagine fighting at 155

no wonder his stick leg broke

being able to cut that much weight from that kind of frame is pretty amazing.

It sucks cuz he was looking pretty good in that fight as well.  Maybe he could succeed at 170?

If he ever fights again I'm sure it'll be at 170.  There's no way he's coming in with legs that skinny ever again.

Why do you keep diverting attention to your own personal training?  Were we talking about you and the little McGym you pay money to train in? :smirk:
