first pic is aminita muscaria, and some very mfine specimines to boot.
the next three, possibly some type of inocybe.
and lastly some sort of psathyrella or maybe even paneolina foenisecci. hard to tell

Can you eat Animita Musceara?

I've heard a lot of conflicting reports... Does the one I've found appear to be the type that one would consume for a 'journey'?

Here's another image

95% of people who have eaten an Aminita will tell you that they will never do it again...it is not an enjoyable feeling.

Well I've got a friend who'd eat horse crap if someone told him it'd get him high.

Everything once he says, so yeah, If it IS active he might try it.

The first ones are Amanita muscaria var. muscaria. I know several people who have tried them and all of them say they wouldn't do it again.

The next one I'll go with Mitchnast - Inocybe is a resonable guess. We'd need a spore print and some microscope work to be sure.

The last ones I think Mitchnast has, too. They resemble Psathyrella gracilis, but we'd need a microscope to figure it out for sure.

Excellent photographs.

Happy mushrooming!

Sweet stuff!

Well, tomorrow I'm going to go pick those Aminita Muscaria's and my friend is going to try them.

If by eating this my friend is going to DIE, someone please tell me now, before it's too late. If he's just going to have a shitty trip, then that's cool. How much should my friend eat? A cap? A whole mushroom? I take it they can be eaten raw? I read they should be baked in a oven and basted in their own juices until dry... But.... Does a person HAVE to? Anyone know about this?

Mode of ingestion is important with amanita muscaria. Anecdotes point to smoking as an acceptable method, but eating will likely make you too sick to enjoy the trip. They're almost too pretty to consume...

Great find!

This mushroom that you guys have guessed as Inocybe also secreted a thick mucus... The mucus itself was tinged purple, the cap and stalk where thickly covered in it. Does that help any?

i may be one of the only people on this forum who likes amanitas. they can be unpleasant/scary sometimes but so can the psilos. the most important thing is preparation, both of yourself and the mushrooms. drying is a must. if you don't or don't dry them right(there is realy no trick, just common sense) they can cause very unpleasant nausia and sometimes cramps. they are not for every one and are not a "lets get high" kind of thing.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
