There was a bust recently in New York State. Some dudes were selling LSD to a DEA agent, and apparently were extracting and selling a bunch of DMT on the side (for $300 a gram according to the article , that's a complete ripoff BTW). They offered some to the DEA agent in October, and were busted recently, so it was a longstanding operation. The article said they were using a crockpot, so probably they were using marsofold's tek.

Anyway, the moral of the story is not to go slinging DMT. It attracts unwanted attention. If you want to hook up close friends, that's one thing (though I still don't think you should profit off it), but dealing it brings unwanted attention.

It's possible MHRB might go the way of salvia; there was a recent rash of videos on youtube of people smoking DMT, and a pictorial video on how to extract it. We've flagged all those videos down to avoid a salvia-type backlash (it's easy enough to make you don't need a pictorial, and forums like this one and the DMT Nexus provide plenty of troubleshooting for those interested in extracting it).

Currently the DEA is aware of MHRB (and has been for years) but if they start seeing DMT popping up everywhere on the black market, they might take action.

If MHRB became illegal, then I think we'd probably see a shift towards guides that help people recognize local DMT-containing plants like phalaris grass (not a great source, but it'd do if that's all you can get) and Illinois Bundleflower. It'd be a very sad day for extractors, but not the end of the world. Like Dr. Shulgin says, DMT is Everywhere.
