anyone ever been to a funeral high?

i was watching football with some guys and i got a call from my mom saying that my godmother's viewing was today. she told me a week ago but i forgot. anyways...i've been taking hydrocodone and drinking beers but i think it's really important that i make it to this. i just feel like such a piece of shit. hope no one notices...lol

anyone else been to a funeral/viewing really messed up? how did it go?

I went to my aunts funeral high as high could be it was really the only way I could deal with it. When my best friend died I was sippin on whiskey the whole time but that is just me I guess

My grandpas funeral I went after shooting up.
I still feel like shit for doing it.
I couldn't handle going to the funeral otherwise. Seeing that I was with him a week before and he seemed so healthy and out of the blue dies on me =/.

i bought these rave tickets to an outdoor
then i found out my grandma died
and her funeral was the day after
well the rave lasted til 6am and then i went to the funeral at 10am
i was a casket bearer too
i was still rolling a little
carrying my dead grandmother
the craziest part was seeing my family crying
really tripped me out
but i kept my cool
and i really felt bonded with my dead grandmother
but never wept

A couple years ago, a best friend took his own life. He had always told me "man, if you come to my funeral, you better be high off your balls and tripping ass-backwards over yourself."

I'm not the kind of guy to deny the wishes of a dead man so I abided. Me and 3 friends ate 3g dried, 2 weed brownies, and a personal blunt each.

I had never seen the point of funerals but I understand now the kind of closure it can offer. For some reason after he died there was still a sort of hope, sort of like "shit, this cannot be...he'll be back...". When you see him go into the ground that changes, for the better.

ya and it happened a week after i had a seizure and went to the hospital tripping so i had needle bruises on both of my arms and i was showin em off :tongue:

several friends and I went to a funeral tripping balls, we
loaded the casket down with supplies for the afterlife,
mustard, dehydrated hashbrowns, coffee, the family thought
we were nuts but it's what mitch wanted

I went baked and drunk once.  Kind of fucked up because my friend died because he mixed xanax and methadone (DUMB SHIT) and was drinking a fuck ton.  He died from the drinking so some people that smelled my breath weren't all that happy with me however I feel normal as fuck around dead people.  They're in a much better place they lived their life it is fucked up, but what are you going to do?  People think I'm fucked in the head because I smile and laugh at funerals and shit.  I've been to alot and I don't know if I'm going to ever go to another one.

my grandmother's funeral was just last weekend and i thought getting high would help me deal with it, but im so glad i didn't. i was planning on dosing some codeine before the service but common sense prevailed and i went to the funeral sober as could be. it made me feel more human and able to appreciate the atmosphere of loss, anything else would have been disrespectful and plain awkward in retrospect. it also put my drug use into perspective for the time being. i mean getting high just to not have to grieve? that's pretty damn low. i would rather feel my emotions than blunt them out.

it also varies on the person who died, and who is around. my family is 100% anti drugs and getting high before family events was something i did when i was dumb and younger to pretend i was better than my family, but now i know to have some respect.

well i'm glad i'm not the only one. it turned out okay actually, i was able to bond with my godmother a lot and i feel like i really comforted her. i didn't know her mom too well so i guess i don't feel that guilty either.

i really don't like the way most americans conduct funerals. it's so depressing. everyone whispers and wears black and in general just looks so sad. when i die i want to have an irish funeral, with everyone drinking and toasting over stories about me. i think a funeral like that would make closure so much easier.

but i also feel like if i were to die right now, everything would be determined by my parents and of course they would opt for the traditional funeral, and i'm not even religious! to try to get them to understand that i wouldn't want that, would be impossible though.
