Why does coffee make your piss stink?

Every time I have a cup of coffee no matter what size it is, when I take a piss I can smell it like crazy. What the fuck? What is in coffee that makes your urine smell like it's been roasted?

I have not yet encountered this phenomenon which I guess is due to the fact that I don't like to smell my dirty piss water lol.

You're the only other person I've known to acknowledge this.

I've asked people if they notice this and everyone denies it.

I dunno, it's prolly cuz u pee out sum of the stuff in coffee so it smeels liek it.  Makes cents 2 me!  Coffee has sulphur compounds in it and those smells.  Imagine how bad your pee would smell if you ate a skunk!

My urine definitley smells whenever I drink coffee.  Smells like urine-coffee.  It's pretty neat.

never heard this before, but you may like to know that when your urine first exits your body, it is sterile enough to drink-yum yum, urine with a hint of coffee!

It's kind of unavoidable when you're standing over the toilet evacuating yourself. Especially if you are one of those kinds of people that need to breathe on a regular basis.

I think it was Hennig Brandt who kept buckets and buckets of his own urine in his house in order to isolate phosphorous.  Apparently his neighbours did not like the smell of liters of evaporating urine.

As I have mentioned before, I have been an alcoholic and during those days, when I drank in my room at night, I didn't want to have to keep leaving my room to piss, so I'd piss in the empty wine bottles.  I think I may have drank a little bit once but I'm not sure.  Apparently, it is difficult for me to tell apart urine from white wine.

Don't tell anyone I drank my own pee.
