Vertically centering something with html

This has been bothering me for absolutely ages.. what combination of div / tables / css or whatever do I need in order to put something smack bang in the middle of a page?

Looks like you need to use the style container.  I'm not to good with that though.
I'd say just copy nullbyte's code and put your image in the image container.  also replace the color codes with whatever your color needs are.

ah, cudos on centering the image.  Maybe a little more content though.  Unless that was the first major hurtle or something.

Gonna start to write me a minimalistic (yet secure & encrypted) cms and then take it in the direction of the hive. I want to pick up where loads of potentially great synth sites died out.

Basically I want it to be devoted to chemistry :yesnod:... I've got some spare time this week so I might start laying me down some code.
