ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY?

i was shooting the shit with my dad today about trip experiences (my dad's cool as shit, he lived in SF and Berkley during the late sixties) and he started telling me about him and his friends all tripping together on a massive dose. so the dose starts to set in really heavy when one of his friends takes off out of the house not to be heard from again for about an hour or so. next thing you know the guy comes busting through the door naked (all scratched up from running through the woods) yelling about something(?) and takes off back outside. nobody heres from him after that for days. when they finally talk to the guy, he had just been released from a psych ward. apparently the guy took off from the house and got picked up by the cops (who thought he was a nutcase) and took him to the nut house. once there, they strapped him to a table, and proceeded to give him a long session of electroshock therapy. i probably don't have to tell you the dude was pretty fucked up after that. upon hearing this, many thoughts went through my mind: 1) i can't imagine being strapped to a table while dosed, not being able to move 2)electroshock therapy would be devastating while sober, much less tripping 3) what kind of experience would this create? a hyperspace moment like no other? what do you guys think?

EST while tripping would be terrible. It surprised me to learn that Hermann Hesse voluntarily underwent electroshock therapy as part of a treatment for depression.

wow that's horrible.  The rest of his life was probably ruined because of that.  No wonder these drugs are illegal :nonono:
