Modern Psychedelic Therapy

I am currently diagnosed with several disorders including ADD, Major Depressive Disorder, Social Anxiety, Intermittent Explosive Disorder and I suspect I have more with atypical symptoms. I have seen psychologists, psychiatrists and therapists but none of their treatment has had any significant or lasting impact on me. The only thing that has been able to provide any therapeutic effect is my recreational use of psychedelic drugs. But I can only take myself so far and I really want to see a professional trained in psychedelic therapy. I read stories about all the experiments in the 60's and how effective these drugs seemed to be when combined with a trained psychotherapist to guide you through the experience. I know that there are a few such programs still active around the world but these seem to be more focused on spirituality and mysticism which has never been something I have much faith in. I understand that this is great for some people but I'd be unable to truly grasp what they tried to teach me. Another issue I have is that even the more clinical modern psychedelic treatments involve psychedelics that have many unpleasant or downright deadly effects such as Ayahuasca, Iboga, ketamine and to a lesser extent peyote. Is there any way for me to see a medical doctor or psychotherapist who would be willing to guide me through a psychedelic experience and help me overcome my issues? Preferably with a safe and well-reasearched drug. I constantly check MAPS for clinical trials and studies that I could qualify for but have had no such luck. The closest I came was a study on the effects of MDMA on AUTISTIC adults with social anxiety that is actually being conducted in LA which is only like an hour or two away...but Im not autistic. Any advice would be appreciated, I dont think what I want is really feasible but if theres anyone who would know about such a program they would probably be a fellow shroomerite.

MAPS is one of the few organizations that I know that will conduct psychedelic therapy. But you're incorrect on the assumptions of ayahuasca or peyote being down right dangerous or unpleasant. Both of them have thousands of years of safe use.
MDMA is probably much more harmful to the body than either peyote or ayahuasca.
But if you're truly interested in some sort of psychedelic therapy, I'd probably keep looking around for MAPS, or maybe even try to contact them and volunteer to be a test subject.
Ayahuasca ceremonies(if you want to travel to South america) are supposed to be extremely healing. Not only because of the ayahasca, but because the shamans help and guide people to healing. It's not western therapy but it definitely can be beneficial. I mean the shamans are there to help heal the mind body and soul. (it doesn't have to be religious for you, they deal with other religious beliefs on a daily basis)

The short answer is "no." None of the compounds you mentioned have an approved medical use. The only way to receive them (in the U.S.) would be in a clinical trial or via an "underground" therapist.

Well. As it turns out I just found out today that I have a condition that is caused by intestinal cancer in 26-69% of cases depending on where it is located and what study you go by. Im feeling a lot of things right now. I will have a good idea of the actual situation on Tuesday. If this is the worst case scenario, psychedelic therapy may be possible....gotta stay positive, and every outcome has some appeal.
