Lil Wayne sounds like a drowning goose that has just been elbowed in the throat

Lil Wayne presents a fucking stupid image that is neither respectable nor appealing, but somehow he is the biggest rapper out there now, leaving me only to conclude that people suck

Lil Wayne's lyrics are the work of a raunchy sixth grader who has just discovered huffing

Lile Wayne deserves roughly a tenth of the exposure he receives now

I really fucking hate Lil Wayne

Mili is a pretty good song though

no ones talking about living in the past. 
music is timeless and can be enjoyed by
any generation. im just trying to enjoy
some music for what it's worth.  this new
school shit lacks musical value. i appreciate
its use in a club setting but when you
compare this new shit to what should be
coming out, its really a joke.  if you have
to try and live with something you don't
like i feel bad for you. whatevs... :bigweed:

i think that people like weezy cuz he's a huge druggy with no conception of consequences, but he's also loaded. .? all the girls i know love him because they think he's hott. all the guys i know who like him say its because he's a 'badass'..

i like him because he has nice voice for chorus. his lyrics are meaningless and usually don't make much sense.

i dont think he's a rapper at all, i consider him hip-hop

haha i actually like new school stuff better. i was trying to see things your way tho. i like the stronger influence of more modern electronic beats in the newer rap music, honestly. as far as a deeper meaning.. those are everywhere if one looks hard enough. but i did that earlier in this thread. :P

lil wayne is my favorite rapper .. im not gonna lie hes real good. his songs have a wide variety from just messin around, talkin shit, being a hard gangsta, bein high, and just funny stuff. its good for all moods.

i love him. =)

these new modern electronic beats
have no depth to them.  it's all basic
intervals set to dancing rhythms with
auto pitch correction on some horrible
vocals.  it's music for dance, which i
can appreciate and undertsand, but
there it still no meaning to the music. 
the depth in the music is unbelievably
shallow.  i still maintain that lil wayne
is not a rapper but an entertainer... but
a very good entertainer albeit i don't like him at all.

lil wayne is actually starting to get real
played out and i know a lot of people
who are starting to dislike because he
gives you the same bullshit over and over. 
listen to the carter 3 and then biggie's
ready to die or if you want to argue for
underground, listen to madvilliain's madvillainy. 
critically analyze and critique the music
and get back to me which is a better crafted album.
lil wayne cant hold a candle to biggie and
shouldnt even be considered to be in same
league.  i think its a damns travesty how
hip hop has evolved.  if grandmaster flash,
run dmc, ric b and rakim, boogie down
productions, biggie, pac, big l, etc. are the
standard of hip hop than all the new school
music has failed the test horribly.  everyone
get off lil wayne's dick whether you hate
him or love him.  bad rapper, good entertainer

IMO Lil Wayne is rap at it's most basic form, which is rhyming words together and making them sound good.

No, he doesn't have deep meanings in his lyrics and no he doesn't make coherent story raps (ie. slick rick's childrens story). He just strings together words and lose concepts to a sick-type beat. You gotta take it for what it is.

I used to hate wayne and only listen to my underground hiphop because it is obviously more intelligent, but I'm not always in the mood for deep meaningful music. Sometimes I want to listen to a dude who's simple, full of swagger, and raps over hard beats. :cool:
