Depends on the person's history.

There are users who constantly ignore the rules, who have been banned and let back in and continue to push it with 'innocent' little flames like that.  I hate that shit and I will ban them for it.

"Post with respect" is the basis of all the pub rules and users who repeatedly ignore that don't need to be posting in the pub.  Someone with no troublemaking history who calls someone an idiot probably won't even get an official warning, just an edit and a "knock it off, ok" if anything.

Sometimes we overreact, sometimes we underreact.  There is a support ticket system if you feel you've been shafted.  This is the one of the best boards on the internet, I'm always amazed how much some users complain about it.

I told someone I thought they were an idiot for smoking cigarettes while they were pregnant.  They admitted it was stupid, 5 people quoted me, and I caught a fucking 5 day ban from the site.

The bottom line is that the pub is supposed to be an easygoing place, where you don't have to worry about insult wars cropping up all over the place.  If you want to be able to throw insults around, go to OTD, or even the growery smoke lounge.

Also notice, "no flaming" just means you can't call a poster an idiot.  You can rip on their posts and ideas all you want. Instead of saying "You're retarded", you instead say "That's retarded" and you're no longer breaking pub rules.
