Do you think that if you call someone an idiot in the pub you should get banned

This is irrelevant of whether or not the person cares, im saying if a mod sees that you called someone an idiot in the pub, in a shroom forum website, should that person not be allowed to post anymore

ya I know i want to, its just that it seems really strict for a forum of a bunch of druggies
yes of course we need to have respect in the community, it seems though the bureaucrats have gone way overboard in trying to protect people
the same exact way the government tries to baby us citizens
its extremely ironic since the mods complain about problems with cops, then go ahead and act exactly like them

If i call someone an idiot in the pub nothing will happen to me because im not an asshole on a regular basis, nor do i instigate extreem dialog unless it's for getting some pussy. :shrug:

I dont think a bouncer would beat your ass for calling his buddy an idiot. If you called his buddy a nigger, bitch or faggot he might; but there is nothing wrong with calling someone an idiot unless they are truthfully mentally retarded, in which case it is a personal attack.

You only get baned from the pub for calling someone an idiot if you're a repeat offender who's always pushing peoples buttons.  There have been a couple occasions where I called mods idiots, but since my behavior is respectful on the whole (and I justified my claim) they let it pass.

The bottom line is that the pub is supposed to be an easygoing place, where you don't have to worry about insult wars cropping up all over the place.  If you want to be able to throw insults around, go to OTD, or even the growery smoke lounge.

Also notice, "no flaming" just means you can't call a poster an idiot.  You can rip on their posts and ideas all you want. Instead of saying "You're retarded", you instead say "That's retarded" and you're no longer breaking pub rules.
