The bottom line is that the pub is supposed to be an easygoing place, where you don't have to worry about insult wars cropping up all over the place.  If you want to be able to throw insults around, go to OTD, or even the growery smoke lounge.

Also notice, "no flaming" just means you can't call a poster an idiot.  You can rip on their posts and ideas all you want. Instead of saying "You're retarded", you instead say "That's retarded" and you're no longer breaking pub rules.
