Busted at Maine Harvest Fest

Well, unlike the other times I've been to a Maine Vocals event, there were piggies (and dogs) camped on the local roads.  I happily left without a care and with a nice little supply of primo buds, only to be pulled over for "speeding" a mile outside the gates.  Apparently "speeding" is enough reason to walk the K9 around the car, and if the bitch barks, they can now do a full search.

  I was pretty surprised, as there were no cops for miles at Freedom Fest or Reggae Fest.  This really sucked...100 mile drive, $200 worth of nugs, and a $350 fine.  Oh well, at least it's only a money issue and not a criminal offense here, but the loss of that weed almost brings a tear to my eye.  Fuck cannabis prohibition.

That sucks alot man. If you got busted in my state, they would tow your car and take you to jail. Then you would have probation, fines, AA meetings, drug rehab, community service, and a record that really screws you over. Im glad all you got was a fine, but im sorry all that wonderful herb got ganked.  :crying:

same thing here, but you can choose AA or NA (narcotics anonymous).  You also need to add a drug education class to that list...I got all of that for getting caught with a roach.

A friend of mine also got busted leaving maine harvest fest this year. Almost exact same situation, they got him for "rolling through a stop sign" and released the dogs. He lost an oz of grandaddy purp and was fined. I was very sad indeed because i would have been smoking it.... :thumbdown::frown:

And the moral of the story is........

if you're driving with drugs and you see a cop car, be damn well sure you're not breaking even the most minor traffic offenses.
especially if you look like a hippy/black person

yeah dude i set cruise control to the exact speed limit and make a complete stop and count to 3 at every stop sign.  not even kidding.  if they STILL pulled me over i think i would try and kill the cop id be so furious :lol:

    Normally, I would have been super careful, but I completely let my guard down this time.  There are usually zero cops up in rural Maine, so I was totally blindsided by this one.  He was behind me for a while and I didn't even realize it.  Completely oblivious, no paranoia.  I suppose now it's back to the old way of having a minor heart attack whenever I see a cruiser.

Too bad man..I'm in that area and have heard of more than a couple people getting busted at the numerous festivals that just happened.

Get on your knees and thank god you only god a fine, and not your whole life ruined (jail, denied most employment due to criminal record, etc.)
