Try to identify my dry fungi (no pics)
    #910184 - 09/26/02 05:37 PM (15 years, 27 days ago)

i was just out for my first expedion of the season and i wasn't expecting to find anything(being so dry here on the west coast), but i did find some little fellas. they are completely dry though, their caps are brown and rather flat, the stems are white and quite strong the tallest ones are about 6cm high. they were growing in maple leaves/mulch with very healthy thick rhizomorphic mycelium.
could they be young azures or cyans??

hey man, i tried to post a reply to this earlier... if they are completely dry, and they have no bruising reaction at all, i would say no on the azures or cyans. they would prolly be blackish with at least some bluing. i dont think cyans or azures are likely to dry up and persist much though.....good luck. all i'm finding is underground shit, everything else is baked in oregon
