Lack of Emotion
    #9040604 -

I have a general tendency to lack emotion in any situation.  I've been depressed on an off, but this seems independent of that.  I've been like this as long as I can remember.

When I was a baby I pretty much never cried, or was upset.

There are times when I can feel emotions extremely well -- a good example being my feelings toward my one long term, serious relationship.  But in general, not much.

What do you think, Pub?

I think most people have become desinsitized to most instances and situations. Mostly through the media, our will is no longer as strong as it once was. Generally speaking. (imo)

The only person that can genuinely know where your lack of emotion is you. Not a drug pusher psychologist, definitely not the pub. What you have to do is look within yourself for your answers. I mean, really, think about your past, your life, your current state of mind, just take a night and open the doors to your conscious/subconscious mind. Learn some good meditation techniques, (I can give you resources if you'd like, just ask.) and just analyze the shit out of everything thats happened to and around you. Then you'll be able to understand where your lack of emotion comes from, and work towards a remedy.
Peace.

I had a relative die recently and when told of their death I was pretty
much meh  :ohwell: . Though I then started to feel guilty of my lack of
emotion which I think stem from 1 males just being naturally less
emotive, and 2 I realized that even though im generous,
My life is very self centered, something that I wish to eventually
correct once ive sorted my own shit out, till then :ohwell:

It depends too, I think personally it can be a form of existentialism. It's almost a degree of over-rationalizing, in that things can become 'not' so important.

being emotional doesn't mean "emotional to the degree other people notice". that's over-emotional. you sound ok.
