yes, mimosa scabrella contains dmt also. their pods (tenuiflora/scabrella) look very much like mimosa pudica's pods (sensitive mimosa) but without all those little spines. how tall is it?

How far north can that be grown successfully?

I thought MH needed a sub-tropical climate, but Desmanthus illinoinsis could be grown in the north.

Did you grow these from seed? Commercially ordered, or collected from the wild? This species is so rare on the American and European market that I'm half tempted to take a vacation to Mexico or Brazil to go seed collecting!

Mimosa Pudica does not contain DMT (or atleast detectable levels of DMT).

babyhitler and wrestler something (sorry, typical short term memory loss): these plants grow in the arid and subtropical places, they can tolerate long dry spells (harvest time), flooding seasons and a little frost (subtrop light frosts).
murple: actually i was just looking for info/pics of it on the net and i thought it would be cool to post such nice pics... i was looking for that info because i bought a baby mimosa scabrella. i have been looking around the country for these plants for years and now i am closer than ever. i'll keep my eyes opened for them in the wild and i would be happy to spread some seeds around when i get them...

Hum.. the ones other here have larger leave, the seed pods are the same but a bit longer, and I'm not to sure for the spines.. don't think it's hostilis then.. I know You can find some delbata seeds somethinmes around here, I'll go have a look on the web to see if any pics match the ones 'round here.. cos, there are lots, and lots of... seed pods!!! If they contain DMT, that means seeds available!!
