I believe if you risk your dough to be the boss and you succeed then you deserve to be wealthier than your workerbees.  Get smart with your dough or bust ass stocking shelves, its up to you.

abolish income tax, and just have a consumption tax.  That would make it completely fair to all parties.  If your corporation consumes 80 tons of steel a year to make product, when they buy that steel, you tax it.  If I use 1lb of steel a year, when I buy that steel, tax it at the same percentage rate.  so yes, 'sales taxes' would go up, but with the increase in your take home pay from the abolishment of income tax, you should break about even based on your income level.  Also, any foreign goods would be taxed at a higher rate, say, a sales tax of 23% on all USA produced products, and a 28% tax on all imported products.  This way, when the rich ass people are out buying glorious houses, lavish cars, expensive clothing, etc.  They pay their tax.  This, also, leaves no one out, everyone pays for what they consume, the same as any other american, rich, middle, poor, whatever.

peace

so yes, 'sales taxes' would go up, but with the increase in your take home pay from the abolishment of income tax, you should break about even based on your income level.

But it would be a much more complicated system than simply paying tax when you collect your salary. That's probably why the consumption tax isn't widely used. Otherwise, I agree, it has the potential to be more fair.

like i said, imagine you make 800+ dollars a week and keep 600. What could you do with that extra 200?

Buy more imported Chinese goods, contributing further to America's trade deficit? Not everyone will use that money wisely, and roads and schools still need to be funded.

I agree about the risk part.  but remember, if you want to do that, you need money to risk in the first place.  I am smart with my money, i save as much as i can, but its only a couple hundred after expenses.  at this rate it will take me a looong time to save up enough to start a legitimate business of my own.

Indeed - the richest people aren't rich because they work harder than everyone else, or because they're smarter or more talented. They're rich because they come from rich families, and money attracts money.

There are exceptions like Warren Buffet or Bill Gates, but those are (sadly) rare.

i disagree...i have had paychecks as high as $12,000 for one week and lost over 5k in taxes...since i started working there i have noticed that i pay alot in taxes...

what i lose in taxes is what i used to make a year before this job...i sometimes feel like i am paying someones salary though my taxes alone...

as far as loop holes you can write things off that are business related...costs that are in direct relation to doing your job...that usually gets me back 1/4 of what i lost in taxes...

a professor in college once told us that when he was making over 100k a year they were still broke...when you have the mentality that you are making a certain amount like 100k a year you look at things differently and in reality you are only making 50-65k a year...that makes a big difference in the grand scheme of things...especially when you putting money in 401k's and any other investments your trying to build...

do i disagree that there are loop holes...breaks are there because life would be too rough without them...

why don't you go to your bank and take out a small business loan? your bank will see that you are good with your money and be happy to give you some money these days...as long as your credit is good...

You pretty much have to have 100% immaculate credit to get any sort of loan these days.

yeah not only that, but it takes money flow to build a line of credit.  the more money you have, the more credit you will get.

Besides that,  Taking loans is what got America into into the economic mess it's in right now.

I believe in living within my means, getting a 50k - 100k loan is a lot tougher when you're not wealthy to begin with.
