tricky cubes? (id help plz)

ok here it goes..
found these suckers growing in my lawn today when i woke up.
the stem is hollow, the cap is white except for the top, it has yellow/brownish kinda smooth texture on it.  the gills are white, and now that i look at it it has stained brown where i broke it and on the stem.

here is a picture, sorry about the shitty quality but its all i have :frown:



these probably arent active, just curious as to what they might be..

spore print color is on the way.

Don't eat it! Take a spore print if it's white, than it's prolly poisonous. It looks like an Amanita.

Hi, NuGGs,

Well those are most definately not the mushroom Psilocybe Cubensis.

Psilocybe Cubensis grows from cow manure.

The mushroom that you picked and photoed are in fact the poisonous Morgan?s Green Gilled Lepiota. As you see the stem is brown, the veil is white, and also the gills are white. With maturity the gills turn a light green color. The spore print of this mushroom renders a pastel olive-green color. And they are in fact poisonous despite early reports of this mushroom being psychoactive by some mycologists. And even once being refered to as "eat and hear voices from heaven". This is all discussed in the worldwide distribution of psychotropic mushrooms by Guzman, Allen and Gartz.

They are poison.

Mr. Mushrooms if you read this i believe that we should have this mushroom in the FAQ. I will bump one of my threads up to the top for you to see and maybe we can use that or i will type up a full description of the mushroom Green Gilled Lepiota.

Also, NuGGs, this mushroom is involved in more mushroom poisonings than any other mushroom in the world includeing death caps or destroying angels. The number of cases of mistaken identification and ingestion is higher from the Gulf Coast states of America than all other poisoning cases collectively from around the entire world. Most often it is mistaken by people seeking the mushroom Psilocybe Cubensis, when in fact, this mushroom has very little resemblelance in appearance to the mushroom Psilocybe Cubensis but still it is eaten by people in hopes for a "trip".

i figured it wasnt a cube since it was in my front lawn but i could see where someone would mistake this for a cube.

GGreatOne234 has it, those look like Morgan's Lepiota, Chlorophyllum molybdites, which is very nasty. A greenish spore print will verify this ID. If you get another color, let us know.
