I believe moderation is the key to life.

So, yes.  But they are still people all the same and are not less of a human.

It is their actions I look down upon.

No ... your title makes it seem like you do, though?

No reason to hate on people for having a different way of dealing with the harshness of life ... some people are addicted to watching TV, others to eating sugar, others to shopping ... everybody has a vice, so we should be able to accept that nobody is really perfect, and to discriminate anybody for having some sort of dependence just shows an insecurity of oneself, IMO ...

I certainly pity them, as it is a terrible place to find oneself, but I don't look at them as the "scourge of the Earth". No, I'd rather call the old, white, racist fucks who run America the scourge of the Earth.

but seriously you cant generalise, i know some heroin addicts who are absolute scum but i know others who work hard everyday and are kind honest people. for the most part they are scum though especially my brother :laugh:

the only thing i look down upon in heroin, meth, coke addicts is the things they do to get their fix
if you have to steel your parent's tv and sell it for a rock then you need to change your lifestyle

that's acceptable ... but at the same time, not all addicts do those kinds of things to get their fix.  some just deal with withdrawal until they manage to get the money to afford their fix.  and so you can't generalize all addicts as being that way, as really, most ones I've known were very respectable people for the most part ... they keep their houses clean, don't leave syringes around, work for their money, etc.  just like "normal" people.

its sad that they are "abusers"

but i believe that everyone lives their own life how they choose. although i will try to help someone in need(whether they think they need it or not :lol: ) i wouldnt ever look down on them for the life theyve chosen.

havent we all been in places/times in our life we wish we were never there???

i only said that tv stealing thing because one of my friends' sisters is a crack whore and jacked their tv and sold it for crack money
i agree that not all addicts steal, cheat, beg and lie to get their drugs but you have to admit, a lot do
hell, if i met an addict that was respectable, responsible, and trustworthy id make friends with them:grin:

i did.

the only thing i think of when i think hard drugs, is controlling.

all drugs have the potential for abuse, but some make you abuse.

but in no way is that a reflection of someones true being. they are being controlled by a substance that is stronger than their will.

Sometimes heroine users actions do effect others.  I know plenty of people that have robbed people and used forged checks.  Those actions have big impacts for the people that had to deal with losing that money.  I do not look down upon heroine users but you cant say that the actions of drug users do not effect others.  The family has to deal with the heroine user as well...  Drugs do effect other people not just the user..

yeah i look down on them, but with a certain degree of empathy. their life has taken a shitty turn and its hard to get out of there in this society. it's all a huge trap.

if more ppl uplifted the weak and broken and addicted, they would overcome easier.

knowing theyre not alone trying to take on a giant like addiction by yourself is VERY VERY hard

sometimes i've thought about becoming a junkie. just having one goal in life and throwing away morals and ethical guidelines. avoiding all responsibilities and having just one kind of pain.

If I had a bunch of money to waste on it, I might be a junkie. I think it would be awesome to be high on heroin all the time. Being a junking isn't even bad so long as you can get your fix, and if you had enough money, that wouldn't be a problem. It's not like being a tweeker where you destroy your body and mind.

No way in fuck am I stealing from people to support an addict lifestyle like many dipshits out there though. Since there is no way that I could pay on my own to support a full blown heroin addiction now (unless I sold it which I will not do), I will just save one of the greatest pleasures know to man for once in a while until I become, in some mysterious manner, rich and able to afford all the drugs I want.
