thought i'd share an amazing deal with everyone. 10ft of 7500k spectrum  led rope light for $21

get it while the gettings good.

That's a good buy, but i've had a few of those in the past and they always seem to short out after a while.

I just bought these and set them up in my martha... Only problem is they dont seem that bright to me... They say 7500k on the website but doesnt say it on the box. Just expected them to be a bit brighter... I purchased the 27ft for 39 bucks on ebay, pretty good deal. Heres my setup, anyone think they will be alright?

i just set mine up too and personally, i think they look great.

7500 is just a spectrum range, don't expect it to be as bright as the sun! hehe.

i just realized i got the 2" spacing set,what did you get? they do look great, but just making sure they diddnt hafta light up my whole fc like if i had a clear bulb in there.... Its lit up, but just a bit dim.

they are 1" apart i believe.

the important part is that they are in the right spectrum.

edit: 27ft? damn thats alot!

i cant vouch for anything off of ebay, but the link i provided in the original post was a good source for these lights, at a cheap price. plus i know they are legit.

that does look sweet! with the lights on the back wall like that you dont think you will run into any problems? I ran mine so they will be directly above on all levels. I have the same lights from orange tree trade, just longer. You can buy more and piece them together ya know! :smile:

yeah they will be fine, the light doesnt need to be right over them. the idea is that you have the right spectrum. if you have that, even if its just a couple led's you will be good.

i like your placement better, but its a pain in the ass to ziptie all that so i just zigzagged it along the back.

That's a bane of LED's, they just don't emit intense light at distance.  I've been using LED for a bit now, not on mushrooms but testing with cannabis and some ornamentals.  A big issue with LEDs is they need to be placed real close to the organism (mushroom in this case) for the photons they emit to offer the intensity required, even for mushrooms IMO.

Has anyone grown with these lights?  I suspect they will not prove that useful unless a lot of them are used and they are close to the mushrooms, like a couple of inches away. 

What is the wattage of each LED?  IMO LED has a long way to go in terms of intensity which IMO makes them not overly useful yet. 

But I'm really interested in themange's and your experiments :smile:

im pretty sure the intensity is not the important when growing mushrooms. thats more of an issue with maryjane.

but i'm no light expert by far.

could you please go more indepth?

aquick search of the forum leads me to believe that led lighting is MORE than sufficient to grow mushrooms.

in fact these being at 7500k make them better than the average lights that most people here use.
