Psilocybe cubensis - Leucistic

Spores (9.4) 10.3-12.2 (13.2) microns Mean 11.2
The spore size places it in the range for Psilocybe subcubensis which is virtually identical to P. cubensis except in the smaller size of the spores.  Not everyone agrees that subcubensis is a valid species.

No unusual microscopic features with the exception of larger numbers of intensely bluing and irregular pleurocystidia mixed with the more common form.  These have been noted in other collections but never to this degree.  This may indicate higher psilocin levels.

Image shows surface of gill with scattered blue pleurocystidia.

Close up of some of the pleurocystidia showing their variable nature.

This is my first post on the shroomery, ive been lurking *extensively* around for a good 5 years now. Ive done PF-tek jars and hydr0420's invitro tek with texas strain (20lbs). I got some strange 2-3" fruits with greyish caps, but nothing like this. Very intriguing mushrooms you got there, beautiful I say.

Those pics by workman look just like the pictures on sporeworks, is this isolate going to be available eventually on there? Ive been considering PE6/PE/SA for the double tub Im going to start soon, but maybe ill experiment a little if this gets on the market. If not in the double tub, then definitely in some bags. This isolate looks worth it.

That's because your texans didn't produce any leucistic variations.

Are there any isolates of this strain or was anything salvageable from what was grown?

These bad boys look like they'd be worth checking out.

I'm doubting the potency of these. I don't really believe they're as potent as the topic starter says. And if the clone attempts fail mysteriously then I'll be doubting it even more.

What he said is interesting but if no one can reproduce that type of potency with these then it's useless and we might as well have someone genetically modify it to be more potent. GW or someone like that might do it one day.

I'll try to extract some viable spores from the gills and see if I can get a culture going.  It shouldn't be a problem.

This is very interesting. It is amazing how one species can produce such varying physical characteristics.

So I wasn't losing my mind!  Those buggers where indeed more potent than my usual grows.  I've been working 70+hours the last two weeks so I haven't been on very much lately.  As far as the cloning is concerned.... I couldn't pull it off.  The trich would completely take over the petri dish in a days time.  Damn near impossible to isolate it away from the contamination.  Sorry.  Believe me, no one here feels worse than I do about it.  I do, however, have a current grow of the original spore print going as we speak.  Larger tub!  It's about 3 times larger than the one that produced the ones pictured.  Will it produce the same mushroom?  probably not since it is multispore. Workman has the key to reproducing the same mushroom!  If anyone can reproduce them, it will be him.  WE ARE ALL AT HIS MERCY!  That seems to be the next question that will keep this thread alive for another month or two.  WILL WORKMAN ISOLATE/CLONE THE SAMPLE?  WILL THE SAMPLE BE UNIQUE ENOUGH TO WARRANT IT'S OWN MARKETING NAME?  (Penis Envy, move aside!  Here comes "XXXX!"  All bulshit aside, I understand that a cube is a cube is a cube, but if you can produce the same mushroom characteristics as the original fruitbody, I definitely want a syringe! (especially if you can achieve those characteristics from multispore.)
