I LOLed when the announcer said that last year the Chargers would break the huddle with "Let's get to Arizona" or whatever.

I actually hate Chargers fans more than Patriots fans, at least the Patriots do shit.

Carolina's always been good as long as Delhomme's been healthy.

Strange enough, the Rivers and the Chargers played well. It was just a tight nit game that came down to that one last play...

Chargers will still be good, but i don't think they'll be the superbowl contenders everyone makes them out to be.

They've always been just destined for mediocrity. It's the Charger way.

i know i like ragging on the chargers, but it is just because alot of my friends are fans and they all get caught up saying some overzealous garbage about their team.

"LT is the greatest to ever play the game"

"Chargers are the most talented team in the league"

"They're destined for a superbowl run"

etc. etc.

but all in all, they're a steadily improving team. The defense played solid against a strong offense in Delhomme's Panthers.

Rivers will only get better this year.

I think the one thing they're still missing is that big play consistent WR.

I mean, Chambers and Jackson are decent, but they are far from being a game breaker like alot of the top tier WR's in the league.

They're alot like Philly, in that they have that one missing piece keeping them from that top level.

If SD gets that one big dominant reciever, just imagine how many options open up on offense. Rivers throwing the ball very well, Antonio Gates coming off the line, and LT opening up the secondary...

They would be nearly unstoppable.

Let's be honest, all of us.

Yes I am a life-long Chargers fan and I love the team.

However, I believe it is the same for me as it is for all rabid sports fans.

When it comes right down to it we are betting on animals. I enjoy it but I won't let a loss/failure of my beloved team complicate my life.

That was a great game. I was pissed we lost but I am a Delhomme fan and we arent usually the best opening day team. However, that last play came down to one thing... the push out rule. It's gone now, hit the fuckin guy when he is in the back of the end zone. Had one of those guys not played the ball we could have won.

Either way, perfect throw by Delhomme for an epic ending. Obviously I have a lot more emotional attachment to that game because my team was playing, but it fuckin rocked.

Merriman should have been pulled early on though. A 50% Merriman is not better than a 100% backup. Just my opinion though.
