My buddy in high school tried storing fresh coffee grounds and bud in the same bag for "flavor and cover" as he put it.

heh.. if he was buggin' about trying to make it up to you before you could even indicate whether or not you were angry, there's probably something wrong with it. If it smokes alright, it was probably just a shitty smelling batch that he masked with peppermint flavor or something.
