Bell pepper color question
    #8800912 - 08/20/08 02:43 PM (9 years, 6 months ago)

I have a black bell pepper plant growing right next to my two naga jolokia chile plants, and something odd is happening.

The black bell pepper plant has always consistently made black peppers, and now there's a good-sized pepper turning red, and I was wondering, is there any chance it was cross-pollinated, or is this just a coincidence, designed to ruin my hope and dreams?

Is there any chance I have a Naga Jolokia/Sweet Bell pepper?

actually, besides this one of course, they've all gone straight from green to black and stayed black since it's a black bell pepper plant...I've had it for 2 years now.

any cross pollination would show up in the next generation's seeds, not the current plant's fruit

okay, so it's just a fluke as of now.  I will, however, be keeping the seeds from the red pepper to plant and see if it yields red fruit as well.

Is it common that a different colored fruit would come from a plant that has been so consistent till now?
