soil question..but different this time. i promise

ok so i have posted a bunch of cactus soil question on here, but i need somemore advice.  i am about to plant a cactus that i have (it was sent through the mail)  i have let it sit out for about 2 weeks (as to let stuff dry out...supposedly to not cause any kind of rot or something)  anyway is it recomended to sterelize the soil?  and if so what do you (the wise) recomend.

also any pointers on water as far as after sterelizing?  any help will be and is always appreciated:) thanks alot guys :grin:

cool thanks man..i really appreciate it. i actually let the bare rooted plant sit. do you think that was ok? its in soil now...any pointers?

It's not terrible to allow bare root to sit, it will callouse over a little bit too. This protects it at first from root rot, it'll eventually soften up a little and return to normal root consistancy. No biggy. Nothing bad will come of what you did.
