Does anyone out there use a ultrasonic humidifier?

With any success, that is. I tried using one with PF tek cakes fruiting in a storage tub with relative success, but I learned I had to keep it turned onto the lowest setting or I would get a lot of aerial mycelium and condensation on the cakes. Anyone have any suggestions or comments about Ultrasonic humidifiers? Thanks

i tried to use this origonally as my set up, but found it to be a huge pain in the ass.... i later opted for a much cheaper and easier way of using perlite. you just set it in there, and it does all the work for you, with no timers, tubes, or shit like that..... just got to remember to fan the lil guys......

I started with an ultrasonic humidifier too but switched to perlite recently because it is easier to set up and maintain. My cakes had a lot of water on them but still fruited alright with the ultrasonic. I had it on the lowest setting and ran it 15 minutes every 4 hours by timer. Humidifiers are probably better if you want a large setup like a whole closet or a bunch of containers, but are unneccesary for a small operation. You can run the humidified air through dehumidifying stages (such as 2 liter soda bottles or water bottles) like in shows in the Magic Mushroom Grower's Guide so less water droplets condense on the cakes. I think dunking, double-ended casing, and ultrasonic humidification together are too much since I had very wet fat-asses mushies. Now I'm fanning about 3 times a day, misting about once a day, and have about an inch of wet perlite in the bottoms. So far the cakes and casing appear to be doing fine.

Yes, I've been eating them, for six or seven weeks now, haven't got sick once.

I am still in the building , and sporlating . But I set my 10 gal tank up with an air exchanger/humidifier I got at Petsmart for 20$ . I have maintained an rH of 90* for 48hrs in a house with ac running (55* rH) , and no contents in tank , and no mistings with bottle . If you want more info feel free to contact me for more info .

my dog's flea's microscopic bacterium have their cool mist set up to go on for 3 min three times a day. but that was in a smaller 10gallon container.
Now they've purchased a 55 gallon rubbermaid (hooker coffin) i wonder what kind of cycle itll have to be on now for casings?

IMO ultrasonic humidifiers are overkill when using tubs. Perlite is the best option
Good luck
