Is pot still the same for you?
    #8728510 -

Particularly after indulging in psychedelics, is the marijuana experience just not quite the same for you?

I know that after I had a bad trip on shrooms, I haven't been able to enjoy smoking pot at all. It just isn't the same. Mary Jane is suddenly not my type of girl anymore. The only time it's bearable is after popping a few xanax or drinking some beers. It's kind of like a desperation shag. It's a crying shame, it really is. :frown:

I imagine that after any strong psychedelic experience, smoking marijuana would be different for everyone - some may find that they enjoy it more, while others, unfortunately, simply cannot smoke the magical herb anymore in order avoid anxiety, panic attacks or depressed emotions.

So what's the general consensus here on The Shroomery?
After experiencing the psychedelic realm, is pot still the same for you?
You may choose only one
Has it changed for the better or worse?
You may choose only one
If pot has changed for the worse, did you stop smoking?
You may choose only one

I'd say lsd and dxm have enhanced the way I get high from grass.
I used to get antisocial and quiet when ever i smoked. And now i'm more social. And the high itself is largely based on the weed around here.
Usually catch some kind of vibes. It usually depends on who i'm with.
Pot wont ever be the same since starting out though. First time smoking i stared at a tree for about 20 minutes, just high off my ass looking at every little detail. And I dont do that so much anymore.
Just my input :O

Pot is the girl I go home to.
Psychedelics is like a swinger party.
Get a little bit of everyone and go back home to pot :O

Psychedelics helped make me realize how limited and limiting marijuana is. My current opinion is that it is a wimply drug that makes people smaller. If you want an expansive experience there are much better things out there to do with your time than smoke pot.

Of course this is all simply my opinion.

I've had a couple bad mushroom trips myself, and marijuana helped me to get back in "control" of my head during.  Post tripping, the high I get now isn't nearly what it used to be, but I'm a fairly heavy smoker so that's to be expected.  Now, a year later or so since the last "bad trip", I find myself to be able to let go a little easier and maintain that sense of "control" during mushroom adventures.  I use the term control lightly, but you know what I mean (hopefully).  I consider myself to be fortunate because I know several people who after bad trips or just time, they cannot enjoy pot like they used to.

Pot hasn't gotten better or worse for me, just different.  Pot to me is the equivalent of taking a warm bath or getting a massage.

Every time I trip I usually smoke a lot and then when I'm done tripping I feel like I am better off without it with my new since of clarity. But then I always ended up smoking again.

About a month or 2 ago my dealer got busted so I haven't been able to buy any. However when I smoke with my friends I  find that I don't like the high as much. It is just not the way I remember it, not as good at all. I guess I just got well adjusted to my sobriety. I'm about to buy a sack though so we will see how it goes. If I don't like it it'll be easy  to push around town.

Pot is less interesting that is for sure, it has gotten a bit boring. I try to smoke less of it... its not a panic inducing thing, just not as special as it once was I suppose.

Oh well.

It's not one thing all the time...my relationship to pot is highly dynamic, not static at all...right now we are going through some growing pains, and after I see Radiohead this weekend (something for which I will need many joints) I think pot and I need to take a break for a month or so.

Well said.  For the past year or so weed has been sketching me out like crazy but I'm starting to come out of the haze, so to speak.  I'm just getting back to the point where I can comfortably get ripped as shit and go into a social situation, which for a while would have terrified me.

On a recent mushroom trip, I entered The Zone - the Creative Zone. I was writing up a storm.

Then, I smoked pot, and I felt that the mushrooms were trying to tell me something about my pot smoking. All of a sudden, focusing on any task for an extended amount of time took unbelievable amounts of mental energy...and I thought, wow, is this how I go through life every day? With a complete lack of focus due to pot?

I've had similar moments. If you ever find a sure fire way to get to the creative zone as often as possible, PM me. As far as I am concerned unleashing creative energy is the mental holy grail.

There is only one way...repetition. Even when you don't want to do it, when it's work, and it's not fun, and you're not enjoying yourself, you have to do it.  I dish out this advice, but even I am still learning to take it. Repetition is key. You must keep creating.

Yeah, it's hard to turn something that's fun for you into work.  I try to write sometimes too, but have yet to do so with any kind of consistency.  The shroomery is  a terrible paradox at a time like that, because as I read it I become inspired, but find myself unable to stop reading it to apply the inspiration

Sometimes I let myself think that writing on the Shroomery satisfies the urge I have in myself at all times to write creatively...I'm just fooling myself on that one though.
