I know one farmer, one, that has it made. He sold some virgin timber on his place and another place he owns as a conservation easement. The group bought it for $1,000,000.00 All he lost was the right to timber it. I ran into him two weeks ago and he was hauling manure out to his fields with his brand new gimongous John Deere tractor and manure spreader (obviously bought with some of the money).

He was running loads the entire time I was there working his ass off.

The kicker?

He's 86 years old. What a GREAT guy! He lets me go in and "monitor" his woods for dangerous mushrooms.
