Party at my house tonite

In celebration of 3 years of marriage and living on Maui, we're throwing a bash tonite at our place. It will be mostly my wife's coworkers and a few of mine. I wish there were more of you Shroomery folks out here who could join us. This will also be the last big social gathering at the current place, as we are moving to a new cottage in a few weeks.

I've got 3 cases of beer, a case of coke & redbull, some Hawaiian juices, a decently stocked bar, a cooler of lemon water, lots of munchie foods and a cake that's decorated with and island and palm-tree motif. This is a family-friendly party.... so it's just booze, because that is so much more acceptable than other recreational intoxicants. I am going to spend the next few hours before the party making some cheese & sausage appetizers.

I have 3 coolers full of beer leftover. I bought quite a bit, and everybody else brought more. I am going to be eating potato chips & drinking beer for days. Also a bunch of cookies, some sushie, & some veggies. We know how to throw a fucking party in the islands.

It is currently 11:45pm.... all of our guests have left. Now its me and the wife in clean up mode. We're putting stuff away, and going to smoke a bowl on the deck before we go to bed. Oh, and the only other Shroomerite that I know on the island did in fact come and hang out all night. Thank you Just Me!!!!!

The cake I bought. And Sara did the words.


Some friends on the deck... the other half was on the upper deck. I think we had 25 people total at the house.

he lives about 45 minutes away from me.... he lives way up on the mountain, and I live down on coast, about 5 minutes walk from the beach. We've hung out a few times.... great dude, and he has a very nice lady!

My wife has a pretty good corporate job..... I work in the tour industry, and bring home a fair amount of cash tips which do not get taxed.

Together it is a good combination.

edit: there are a few more shroomerites on Oahu, but have not met them yet.

My brother married a girl from Molokai and they go all the time to visit family. I've been once to Oahu and the big island. Most beautiful place I have ever seen.

You gotta go to Moloka'i with your brother and his wife. You will probably never want to return to the real world after living local style over there. That place is *local* cuz. The Big Island is amazing, also. But there are even fewer good jobs over there than Maui.... and 2 or 3 times the population.

Just Me: Thanks for coming tonite, the drive upcountry might not seem like much now, but just wait a few years. Your trips to the valley will get fewer and farther between and will seem like fucking road trips.

Yeah he tells me all the time, spear fishing in the day and at night for food. Eating off of fires on the beach, living in 'huts'. Jungle as your backyard. He says its a way different way of life over there. Not very much, but not very many worries, they want it like that.
