silly question about substrate

im new to this whole growing thing, and before i start i had a question. i know you can make you're own substrate (the kind in the growers guide), but does agar work well when growing magic mushrooms? are there other subtrates that would work just as well if not better?

agar is not intended for use as a substrate.

Read, read, read, and read some more. Then when you think you have read everything you can possibly read..... read it all over again. Trust me this is a hobbie where knowledge and patience are power.
