If you where a victim of a crime, (in this case Criminal Mischeif) and it resulted in Monetary costs, (this is essentially vandalism btw) and the person plead guilty, resulting in the restitution to be paid to you after conviction, would you expect to get that (in this case $500 dollar deductible on your car to fix it) withing a reasonable time frame?

If it took 6 months, and you got nothing, would you complain to your VA that nothing was going on? What if you left several messages, and the only talked to you once?

What if they wanted to dig up those voicemails to support an extremely weak case against you on something you have been charged with?

Does that not only make you mad that this person never lifted a finger, but suddenly they want to retaliate against you because you complained?

If someone is not obeying a court order (in this case, paying you) don't complain to them. Complain to the court and they'll bring down the hammer of justice. It's not up to you to collect the money, it's up to them to avoid getting their ass thrown in jail for disobeying a court order.

Usually restitution is paid to or collected by probation officers, in any other case I would call the clerks office and ask them.

QFT, the prosecuter in the case called me and said "they should have kept you informed on the status of the case, and let you know months ago this was in the hands of probation. They did nothing to communicate with them,or you and I am sorry, they should have done something."

I then contacted probation, they stated the person was in and out of jail and when not, was being non compliant. They said they would work on it, they said they they would follow up, and I should too if it becomes frustrating.

Eventually the money got to me, after a ridiculous amount of time. The probation said that the VA did nothing, so that they appreciate me following up.

They stated that the VA should stand in and say that its important you are reimbursed. The fact that they didnt makes it hard.
They did nothing.

They spent more time retaliating against me than working as my VA.
