Jim IMO had talents and faults like any other person.

Agreed. But there are many people who think he was Christ reborn.

Mind you, he's not nearly as overrated as James Dean!

The music was good. That's all that mattered. Why is all the analysis needed? It's just a mode of entertainment. The article gave it more importance than it deserved.

My question would be why do we worship someone simply for becoming famous. Do we worship the world's best electrician? No, because we never heard of him and are not moved emotionally by his precise and very necessary work. But a musician, in the right place and time is somehow extra special.

I don't think it is necessarily because they are famous, but because their work is personal. People become attached to their psychologists too. Some people worship very obscure bands.

I loved the music and lyrics. He spoke to my dark and wounded heart and that was important to me at the time.

Yeah, Morrison reminded me of how I was afraid to express myself. He just cut loose. For years I never could.

Yup.  Criticism is easy and gratifying, especially when the target is well-liked.

Hey, I can do it too!  Maybe I'll do it all day, I have the day off.

More impotently, Jim had young female groupies. Jeebus just had some hairy, smelly fishermen - unless you are into that sort of thang.
