Hiking Trip to the Adirondack State Park,,,, pics....

This last weekend me, two roommates and ones dog went to the Adirondack state park ground in upstate NY... it was an awesome time. 3 days and 3 nights of hiking and camping in the biggest park in the main 48 states. The only downside was the mosquitoes were HORRIBLE, and I came home with some poison ivy. We did about 17 miles (hard miles!) of hiking during the trip. It was pretty hard work everyday, but a lot of fun.

Here are some pictures... there were some great views in the peaks, the hike up and down them was HARSH with that ~60lb pack on.

Looks breathtaking!  My dad lives just outside Syracuse so when I go visit him, I plan to load up my pack and rough it for several days, too.  I bet it's nice to see some real hills.

What kinda gear were you carrying?

^ We rented the stuff from an OSU department... its actually a good deal. The tent and bags were nice. Northface tent and the bag was pretty damn nice.

The trails we did we pretty rough, slow going. That park is sweet :laugh:

That's incredibly cool OSU lets you rent out backpacking gear as a college student.  Were the dog's bags rented, too?  How much did it run you?  Just curious even though I've finally built up for at least a week's worth of hiking.

My roommate bought the dog that bag.

OSU rents out lots of gear for fairly cheap. The nice northface tent was like $35 for a week. The bags were like $13 a week I think.

I would have to look the sheet. But out the door I spent $60 for a bag, headlamp, sleeping bag, pad, etc etc
