3 RBI's and a home-run today.

ESPN has Fonzie ranked in the top-10 outfielders in the league in nearly every single statistical category, and this is *WITH* him missing almost three weeks.

Just saying...

Oh crap, I picked Holliday here :foreheadslap: Picked Soriano in another spot. I REALLY do try not to do that kind of crap. It's hard to stomach the guys who make 41 different predictions or 200 NCAA brackets and then talk it up when things go "the way they called it".

So I'll take my lumps here :ohwell:

My bad.

Another HR and 2 RBI's for Fonzie today.

I'm going to keep updating this.

Quick note from a friend's blog @ bleedcubbieblue.com

Quote:
After 57 team games in 2007, Soriano had 17 RBI. He's more than doubled that after the same number of games this year, and already has half his 2007 season total of 70. For the month of May, Soriano hit .345/.386/.672 with 10 HR, 29 RBI, and 20 runs scored. He's a strong candidate to be named NL Player of the Month -- and despite his dropped fly ball that cost the Cubs the game last Sunday, he's been well worth his money for the last month.

Another note from the same one.

I think we're all a little giddy for June, but I'll take it anyway.

Quote:
Things are starting to rock with near-playoff intensity. Kerry Wood entered to a standing ovation and everyone stood through the entire 9th inning. This is only June. We have to pace ourselves, I think, or we'll all be exhausted come September. Today, it finally felt like summer, with bright sunshine high in the sky, though the lake breeze made the box-score temperature 59 degrees and many seats in the shade emptied out in the late innings.

Enjoy this ride, everyone, as I have been telling you: remember how this feels, remember each and every game, because this has the chance to be the season we have all waited for all our lives. You'll want to remember every moment. The Cubs do have some work to do, particularly in learning how to win on the road, and getting Kosuke Fukudome out of his road-trip funks (he looked bad today striking out three times) -- and this trip is a good chance to do so, playing two teams in various states of disarray. Rest up -- you'll be up late the next five nights.

This isn't about fantasy baseball, WTF do you care?

Go back to adding up RBI's and comparing pitching match-ups for your imaginary team.

There's no way Soriano is beating Berkman out for player of the month. Absolutely no chance.

We'll see.

Berkman's hotness makes me happy to mock the morons who said the NL Central would be the weakest division in baseball, as they do EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

Do you play for the Cubs? Do you manage the Cubs? Do you work in any capacity for the Chicago Cubs? The answer to all of these is "No, I just sniff their jocks."

Nice job keeping up on the league from your abysmal spot in the standings. You're a real stick to it kind of trooper, alright. What a mensch.

What a piece of elitist scum.

Do you hold all sports fans in such scorn? Nobody is allowed to cheer for a team that they don't play for? Anyone who goes to the park or supports a ball-club that doesn't pay their salary is a hopeless rube to you?

Get a clue, old man. 40,000 people show up every day to cheer for a myriad of baseball teams, rain or shine, 152 times every year. While I'm sure you believe in your blackened and shriveled little heart that you are better than them for your lack of care, that assertion doesn't have a skin of truth to it.

Did you have to ruin a nice piece of mockery with your facts?

I doubt zappa knows how many games are in an actual MLB season anyway. He has professed to have no interest whatsoever in the actual games.

You lie, as is your wont, I just profess to care MORE about my own endeavors as opposed to the endeavors of those whose jocks you wear about your face. Which, speaking of your endeavors, how's that working out? Do you even know? You quit over a month ago.

Anyway, I guess I can't relate to a century of frustration. Then again, neither can you, seeing as how you seem to be all of sixteen what with you and your friends' bedwetting over the Cubbies April/May record. Like little giggly freshmen girls waiting outside the locker room for a glimpse of Cubbie cock. Pathetic.

I updated my team two days ago at the most, you dope. I'm just terrible at fantasy baseball; I have made no allusions to the contrary. I said before the season started that I would be pathetically bad. It is no well-kept secret.

Furthermore, I stated quite clearly not seven or eight posts above that I'm aware it is June and that this record doesn't mean the Cubs are winning the World Series. But of the same token, wins in August do not count for more in the standings than do wins in April simply for the fact that they are won in that latter month. 18 wins in May are 18 wins the Cubbies will have attached to their record at the end of the season, and those are 18 wins less that we will have to scrape for in the the last months of the year. To say either those wins or the Cubs record at this stage are meaningless is asinine, both will count towards the final tally.

Yeah, two days ago after not doing anything for a month.

It was just the giddy tone of you and your friend that made me remark. I made no assertion that any win is worthless, I am well aware that they are all the same. Just the pants-pissing glee is so over the top I had to say something. If only to prevent you from vacating all pretense of manliness.
