hey, this is a video of my band practicign tonight. sound quality isn't great, but id love some feedback. i can handle truth too, so dont be afraid. im the bassist jumpin around in the back.

Well.. I can't hear it.

I mean I can hear noise, but I can't hear any of the notes you guys are playing...

If you can get a clean recording then I can give you my opinion :grin:

Doesn't sound that bad though, from the sound I can hear through the noise :laugh:

well... it's not as bad as rap
in the shameless self promotion aspect
you never mentioned the name of the
band once in the lyrics
unlike rappers like soulja boy

like cepheus said, the recording blurs the music too much but
what I can hear isnt bad at all, in fact it's almost good :smirk:

I think i can hear wut you guys are goin for but sound quality on the recording is pretty bad ya kno, cant hear what notes you guys are hitting half the time

IMO make it a little cleaner with a little more funk sound in it and you got yourself a hit

Also must note.. you guys could be a little more entertaining.. less standing still ya kno :shrug:

I like it so far, maybe work on mixing styles or adding some funk like Felinor said. What are you using for pedals?

The audio sounds like it was recorded or uploaded at a low sample rate, dig through your options and make sure you're using 44,000Hz+ with a decent bitrate. YouTube is def. capable of better quality. If it's the mic itself, you could think about investing $60-100 in a nice studio condenser mic or two.

To me, the most important part is doing what hasn't been done and pushing the envelope of creativity.

it was all recorded onto a mac laptop using just the microphone thats on the computer. so yeah, the quality is shit, but you can still get a feel for what were goin for. its best if you listen to it with a set of speakers isntead of just a laptop or something

theres no lyrics to that one yet, but we got some other ones and everyone of our songs is completely different. hopefully we can record better quality sometime soon and i can give yall a better clip.

and yeah, my guitarists werent movin much, but its just practice, we go nuts when were playin out somewhere.

I used my Senheiser HD-25 II's and it made it sound disgusting (not the music itself, just the recording). I could hear every last imperfection the in recording :frown:

Saying that, I can't listen to mp3s (<320kbps) with these headphones.. they are that crisp, clear and responsive :shocked:

from what i could hear through the fuzzy recording i liked a lot, reminded me of early gong, you might like to check some out.>



the vocalisations of gilly smith and the guitar 'bowing' sound at around 1:25 would add some of the etherial quality you seem to be striving for.
look for the gong "unconvention" amsterdam 2006 vid, to see how they progressed.

wow, recording doesn't get much worse than that. My honest opinion, based upon the recording? You are somewhere between the best and worst band ever, probably closer to the latter.
