Am I Too Young?

I'm 14, I'll admit it. Am I too young for a tryptamine experience every month or too and weed a few times a month or less? I don't want to damage my brain, but enjoy the experiences and learn from them. If anyone could bring up any sources it would be much appreciated. Thanks! :smile:

before they ban you, you're 14, and i would not recommend ingesting chemicals that act upon your brain. wait until you are a little older. there's no need for psychedelics to explore what all is out there...granted they sure as hell can help

I concur with others. You'd have to be extremely mature to deal with a high school atmosphere while taking psychedelics. Also, your brain is still in a very developmental stage. Let the process take it's course.

As for marijuana...I used it pretty heavily at your age. Weed is a good way to bond with friends occasionally, and to wake up momentarily from the daze of TV, teachers, tests, and all the games that come with high school. But it can also lead to a lot of negativity and withdrawal from healthy friendships and social relationships. So use in moderation, if at all.

I personally think its to young. I remember when i was 14, i wanted to try them but i didn't have access. Now i know better and im glad i couldn't get my hands on them till i was older.

Don't try to learn anything from drugs until you are 18. I'm serious. Do other things while they still interest you. Drug experiences are disproportionately attractive to teenagers and they can really fuck up your perspective at your age.

You are smart for asking; obviously you know there is danger here. People here might tell you to do drugs because many of them don't seem to think there's anything better in life. Drugs can be an interesting diversion, but for young people in particular they become the centerpiece of entertainment very easily.

i agree with everyone else here. it's best to wait until you're emotionally and psychologically more mature and capable to handle them. literally every single druggy i knew in high school is a complete fuckup these days.

however, i know plenty of kids who waited until senior year of high school/freshman year of college to experiment, and did so responsibly, who are doing great at mixing drugs with their everyday successful lives.

When I was your age I was eating LSD and ecstasy all the time. I'm now one of the most shot out people you will ever meet, I would suggest doing it. Fuck the general consensus, drugs are fun.

Somewhat agree.

Claiming that taking drugs at 14 yrs old is bad is a social taboo.

This is a culturally relative phenomena and the experience will reflect the voyagers intentions and maturity.

If this kid wants to learn something from these, I'd say go for it. Just be sure to be responsible in regards to setting, dosage and intent. DOSAGE is a huge thing to consider. Once you go off the deep end, you really have to have been careful what you were wishing for. You want to know whats 'out there', it will come to you, and you most like 99.9% of the time will not be ready to know. But then agin, nobody is ever ready. It just takes jumping off the deep end to find out. If this kid approaches the experience with an open mind and a clean slate in life, then I could see this as being quite beneficial. He may end up attaining wisdom and knowledge far beyond what most of the louts these days have even in their mid to late 20's.

Take small increments, and make sure the setting is pleasant and safe.

Be responsible is all. When playing with psychedelics, age usually don't mean shit. Everybody's perception is flipped upside down and turned inside out.

I started using psychedelics at age 14. They were some of my greatest trips to date. I used to dose heavily then - like 3 to 7 grams at a time but I would only do it a few times a year. I was definitely mature for my age though. For me the world seemed so simple and straight forward before the soul crushing responsibilities of adulthood took hold. If you truly believe you can handle them and aren't taking them just to get fucked up I say go for it. I wish I could go back and re-live some of those trips.
