Incest doesn't cause genetic defects, the genetic defects have to be present beforehand. The probability of passing on that genetic defect just increases when both parents come from the same genetic line.

Oftentimes children of incest come out fine.

Incest doesn't increase the probability of a genetic defect. All it does is makes it more likely for a pre-existing defect to be passed to the offspring.

Let's say the father and mother of a child are brother and sister. They are more likely to both posses this genetic defect, as inherited from their folks, and it is more likely to show up in their kids than if they had bred with someone without the genetic defect.

Please, my family's ass was in fucking Poland around that time.  During slavery, we were still in Poland.  My grandparents fought the Nazi's.  This assholes father or grandfather WAS a nazi, the correlation is direct.  Not something that happened a 150 or more years ago. 

As far as bombing Japan, yea we bombed them, fuck Japan.  They committed war crimes as bad as the Germans, and wouldn't surrender :shrug: oh well

Also my point was that the Austrians were fucked up in the past and it shouldnt come as a shock that the son of a fucked up person is fucked up.  You brought up America which is irrelevant to my point

The girl was only 18 when she "disappeared". So the father was like 50 when he drugged her and locked her in the basement.

The other super fucked up thing about this, as many of you have pointed out, was this guys wife. First of all, his wife is not the girl's mother. They adopted 3 out of the 6 surviving children. The man told his wife that his long lost daughter left the children on his door step (like she was a junkie or something). Then one of the children that was in the basement got sick. I know someone mentioned the wife not noticing the extra kids going to school and thats because they didn't. The 3 kids that were locked in with the mother never saw the light of day. The only reason this guy even got caught was because he brought his daughter/granddaughter to the hospital and they needed the mothers permission to treat the girl so he brought he into the hospital. The hospital did a blood test and found out that this girls father was also her grandfather and thats when the police were alerted.

What I was saying is that incest doesn't increase the probability of there being a mutation which would be viewed as a genetic defect.  It DOES however, increase the probability of passing on a PRE-EXISTING genetic defect.
