Anonymous said: You're not an alcoholic dude. Drinking a few beers a day isn't that bad. Its something you enjoy and as long as you aren't seriously negatively affecting your health, then it really shouldn't matter. If you are concerned about your drinking, I wouldn't suggest to stop drinking entirely and "see how long you can go". Simply set a goal of cutting one can a day and ease yourself back. It makes much more sense to gradually lessen your drinking than to simply stop and suffer from such a drastic life-change. Why make it harder on yourself? You could start by simply making a can last longer than the time you would take to normally drink it, spread that out, drop a can every now and then, etc. Stress from turning the situation into a struggle to quit something that has become part of your normal rhythm and that you find enjoyable is only going to make the matter far worse and create a huge complex that isn't necessary.
I probably wouldn't suggest going to AA either. It isn't as though your drinking has become out of control and it has become beyond your own ability to manage, right? You're not a victim and subjecting yourself to something like that might simply reinforce a problem that doesn't actually exist.
