For this particular band it will be a horde of 14 year olds trying to get high on anything they can

Psychadelics aren't very big with the metal scene. It's much more alcohol-oriented, a lot of weed thrown in, and some are fucked up on really hard stuff. At least thats what I've observed from death metal shows. Same thing except with a younger variety with the deathcore/metalcore shows, where the age range is usually 16-25.
Can't say much about black metal shows. In the beginning they had some very fierce anti-drug movements (with some musicians blacklisted for being junkies) and the scene has been known to be conservative to nazi extremeties at times while retaining it's satanic views on religion, with some people being applauded for both murdering homosexuals and burning down historic churches.

Yeah, I wouldn't imagine there would be much of a big psychedelic clique or anything. It's just a matter of what music you love, and psychedelics will help bring that out. Moshing to death metal while tripping, though, is just sexcellent.

Very true! psychedelics do bring out the greater in all things.
I seen Iron Maiden on acid a few months ago and that was just great with all of the lights going spastic! :headbang:

One of my favorites is going to the movies on shrooms, my first time tripping balls at a cinema was for Transformers, i was just sitting there in ore the whole time.

My first actual movie on shrooms was "the hills have eyes 2" which scared the crap outa me because i wasnt seeing it as a movie, but more like it was actually happening in front of me Lol.

Black Metal is a fascinating genre of music, from a cultural/philosophical perspective. The music sucks ass imo. but the people behind it, the history of the genre, it's philosophies all make for a good read.

I'm gonna post a documentary about it here in a sec.

While I'm finding the documentary, here is a picture of me in my Black Metal days pooping. Even hardcore satanic grown-ups gotta poop too.

Yeah, I gotta agree. Most black metal just seems mainly about the shock value and the message of satanism than the music itself. That being said, there are about 5 Dimmu Borgir songs that just shred my soul in two. Most of their stuff is shite, but when they do it right, they do it right.

And, heh, yah... black metal can get quite intense. Varg with Mayhem just blows any other shock rocker out of the water.

living here in the baltics i was in a crowd of a lot of people to whom BM was more than music, it was the way of their existence and music was just a byproduct. it's impossible to say what it is exactly inside man that oozes its atmosphere but it was... overwhelming. a few years ago i stopped meeting that crowd and now it's more like a movie than an actual memory. i listened to BM very little but i saw it being lived a lot.

whenever i see these discussions about bands or tr00ness i rarely speak up because its useless to talk of it unless you feel it/have seen it's effects.
