i looked at alott of the latest links and most of them are dead links.
yea i maybe shouldn't have bumped this thread, it's a bit past its best. I just wanted to post that documentary because i found it interesting and thought it was relevant to the board.
Dead links are a good excuse for some new stuff though,, .

Thanks for that man, i watched it the other night. I've never really been one to buy into the moon landing conspiracys, but it was an interesting watch. It seems those talking about alien activity and such have a lot to say about things i can't ever see them possibly knowing so i wonder where a lot of it comes from.

Pedigree Dogs Exposed.
Purebred dogs are genetically weak because people have been breeding for aesthetics without regard for health. It is clearly documented that each breed of purebred dog has its own list of common conditions and diseases.

I will never buy a purebred animal. "Mutts" are genetically superior and in general live longer, healthier lives.

Man, when I look back on my old posts, I think, "What an idiot."

Uncovers historic and previously unseen footage of the illustrious rock quartet and provides new insight into the revolutionary impact of its music and legacy. Directed by award-winning writer/director Tom DiCillo and narrated by Johnny Depp, the film is a riveting account of the band's history.

The story of Andrew McAuley’s attempt to become the first person to kayak 1600 kilometres from Australia to New Zealand across one of the wildest and loneliest stretches of ocean on Earth. Featuring actual recordings from the fatal adventure and some heart-wrenching personal footage supplied by family and friends, Solo is a stunning portrait of man versus nature and is an investigation into what drives a person to participate in such dangerous sports

Poison Fire: http://is.gd/f7RbN
Quote:
The Niger Delta is an environmental disaster zone after fifty years of oil exploitation. One and a half million tons of crude oil has been spilled into the creeks, farms and forests, the equivalent to 50 Exxon Valdez disasters, one per year. Natural gas contained in the crude oil is not being collected, but burnt off in gas flares, burning day and night for decades. The flaring produces as much greenhouse gases as 18 million cars and emits toxic and carcinogenic substances in the midst of densely populated areas. Corruption is rampant, the security situation is dire, people are dying. But the oil keeps flowing.

"Oh My God" asks people from all walks of life, from celebrities, to the religious, to atheists and the common Man - the question - "What is God?"
i think Oh My God is one of my fav documentaries of all time. you can stream it but i think its worth it to get the dvd/bluray or at least torrent a higher quality file than some crappy flash stream.. if for nothing else than than the audio (which is amazing).
Into Great Silence i dont have a link to stream this one but im sure you can find it (assuming youre interested).
Into Great Silence simply follows an order of monks around their monastery. it just shows you their day to day life.
the interesting thing about Into Great Silence is how it is made. the monks took a vow of silence. only on very special occasions are they allowed to talk. the film has no voice-over narration either. there are no main characters, no conflicts, no narrative plot, no soundtrack, and no dialog. its an extraordinarily slow 2.5 hour long film of (mostly) silence.
much like the life the monks lead.. this is not for everyone.

The story of life on Earth is a journey of literally billions of years, from the moment when the first primitive organisms appeared in the ocean to the moment when they left the sea and crept onto dry land for the first time. Origins of Life: Four Billion Years in the Ocean is a documentary (originally shot and exhibited in the high-definition IMAX film format) which uses special photographic techniques to examine marine life and chart how primitive bacteria eventually evolved to a number of different life forms, including creatures who could survive outside the waters. Origins of Life: Four Billion Years in the Ocean also features an original music score by Bruno Coulais.

Yesterday I was bored and testing out some blog sites to see if I could find somewhere to host some images in a way I like. Somehow I ended up doing this instead - a compilation of environmental videos. Check it out if you'd like.
