anyone been to a hypnotist?

my mom can get a me a session for free and wanted to see what it does regarding smoking, self confidence, and my occasional hypochondria
just to experiment
I've been reading a lot of stuff lately on the power of unconscious beliefs and things of that nature

It doesn't work on everybody. I don't think the powers of suggestion would work on me. I just can't see myself getting THAT relaxed.

i tried those self-hypnosis tapes and that shit didnt work at all for me. i think i got the same problem (can't relax enough)

hmmm, yea I definitely feel you on the fact that it doesn't work for everyone
I think I'm going to give it a go once I get out of school though
I've got a truck load of dysfunctions

It works, but I think the whole long term thing is a lie. Once your awake, the commands are gone. It's funny what they can make you do though. They had my friend sing an improvised alien national anthem and dance with this also hypnotized ugly girl. :smile:

What if they commanded a word you didn't know? Like say someone didn't know what "lethargic" meant, and the guy said, "At the snap of my fingers you'll be completely lethargic." Would the guys brain fry?
