Two Shroomerites, disco_cat and llamabox have set up a website in the tradition of the Free Spore Rings, this being


This website will accept seeds of ethnobotanicals, and distributes those against a small fee to growers all over the world. They also have a trading system where donators can exchange seeds.

The Free Ethnobotanical Seed Ring saw its right here in The Ethno Garde forum, and that's why I feel it deserves at least a temporary sticky in our forum.

Please check out that thread with the detais, an then visit the website and take part in the seed exchange. I figure that they now at startup have a special need for people who donate more than they request, to expand their already sizable seed bank.

Spreading the love, and the genetics, of our beloved ethnobotanicals, virtually at cost in a volunteer op is a worthy cause to contribute to. If you live in Tasmania or Asia and got access to locally grown commercial poppyseed at crap prices, send a box of them their way, as particularly Tasmanian and Asian poppies are much desired in the ethon world. If you got so many Ipomoea, Desmanthus or Brugmansia seeds that you can easily spare some, please donate to them.

llamabox got banned.

he didnt try to rip anyone off, he got fucked for cash and ended up not being able to send out packages for a while. then everyone grabbed the torches and pitchforks.

I'm not sure what the status of the seed ring is. Since nobody ever ordered seeds from within Canada I left the whole thing to Llama to look after and didn't keep in touch after that. Llamabox is an active poster on Mycotopia and there seems to be a forum for the Ethno Ring with minor recent activity on it, but it doesn't look like the free swap that the FER started out as.

Reason:
while i do agree with cpt gardner there is one thing that left a bad taste in my mouth that llama did, yes he just was low on money and could not ship BUT he kept accepting trades while he had no money knowing he had no money and the people just kept adding up who he did not send too.

llama is at fault and even if that site was still up i would tell people not to send to someone who kept many of people on many different sites waiting for 6 months to a year to get something if anything!!
