Im going bald...

...and im only 23.  the hair on the top of my head is thinning out greatly and very noticeable.

im going to the doctor on friday and going to ask about Propecia...:sad:

Quick question, was your mom's dad bald? I've heard that the gene goes through the maternal line and I'm trying to figure out whether I am sentenced to the same fate.

i sure hope youre not as bald as your avatar...

i too dread that one day i will go bald. i often think that my hair line is receding, but eventually decide that its just my imagination (i hope :frown:)

Unfortunately, the mom's dad is the only one that factors in to what's going to happen. Take a good luck at your maternal grandfather, that's what you're going to be dealing with a few years down the line.

my dad has plenty of hair, so does my grandpa (his dad)

but my mom's family is fuckin bald and my half brother (mom's side) was bald as fuck by 21.. my uncles and grandpa on mom's side were bald as hell.

i hope it's not hereditary on mom's side like everyone tells me it is or i am seriously fucked.

i can tell it thinning out though.. not really receding yet though.

That is entirely false. You have a 50 % chance of getting the gene from your maternal grandfather and I think stress plays a large role, also.
