so I just got my account deleted from mycotopia for the following reason:

someone asked if anyone knew of any good suppliers of cacti, now in my own recent research I have found that the several botanical shops online, the prices are pretty steep. I found them cheaper on eBay! So, I figured that my research might benefit this person who is obviously looking for information as they made this post, and possibly save them some money! So, I answered the post, "some of the botanical shops are priced high you might look at ebay" and all the sudden HIPPI3 thinks I am trying to take money out of his pocket and all this crazy talk about me taking business from him and all this shit, then my account is deleted? sounds like a greedy person to me, who is more interested in his own pockets than his members heh...... I simply answered the post to the best of my knowledge.... why create a message board for people to talk and ask questions then practice censorship?

Fuck.. ok here we go

this forum ive been on for 3 years now just got shut down (no new posts, heavy censorship of old matierial etc..)  because a company threatened to sue the admin, and the server provider. To many people were talking bad about said company and the muterfakrs used the power of law to squash free speech. just the threat of getting sued is to much for the often middle class forum admin. to risk. Just try explaining to your wife for instance. So anyways, fuck the mycotopia bs, but still why is the internet not gaurnteed immunity from lible and defamation suits? Make a site thats call rodfarvasanasshole.com and i can make a site back called rodfarvaisnotanasshole.org. it all balances out. :smile:

I am super bummed, i had a few thousand posts. That show significant time and energy in a good community. If i had sat in a hall for all that time talking to just as many people about any company they could never come sue my ass.

i never took the time to figure out why mycotopia hates us/visa versa...

but i was talking with a kid in my anatomy lecture the other day about mushrooms and growing in general, and once i said i was a memeber of the shroomery (he had just said he frequented mycotopia) he got noticably more defensive and withdrawn.
