Creative Arts Forum? 1

I've noticed that a lot of people who frequent this site like to post their original artwork, poems or short stories. Perhaps it would be nice to have a forum specifically for these things.
This way they wont get lost in OTD or seen by only a couple people who actually visit the Media Forum. It would be a place where bored Shroomerites could go and have easy access to stories, poems and artwork for their viewing pleasure!
The Creative Arts Forum Artwork and writing BY Shroomerites, FOR Shroomerites.
What do you think?

There is the Media Room Art, computers, film, music, pictures and multimedia - this forum is for discussing and posting anything that tickles your senses.

As of right now there are 5 votes against and 1 vote (mine!) for this forum. Can those of you who voted 'no' please explain why it would not be a good idea to have a forum specifically for Shroomerites to post their creative arts?
The Media Room contains mostly posts about movies and music, with some artwork in there as well. But I think it would be so nice to have one specific forum where Shroomerites can post things like comical cartoons, amazing artwork, sensational stories, and powerful poems.
When these things get posted in OTD they get buried, never to be seen again. If we had a forum specifically for them, they would stay up for a lot longer time so more people could read, admire, and enjoy them. They would all be archived in the same place for extremely easy access.
It would be a place for you to go when you are bored and be entertained by your fellow Shroomerites' creative arts. It would be a place to get to know your fellow Shroomerites better and see their talents. I think this forum could only make this site better and more organized, as well as promoting a healthy community.
Thank you for reading

The media room contains whatever we put in it. Last fall it was flowing with fresh art on a daily basis... now it seems like mj shroomer is the only one still going strong.

Yeah, the media room pretty much satisfies the creative needs of the board.
Hey Smack. How about if I coded up a piece of php script to act as a sub-gallery, where things could be archived for easy access and retrieval based on artist, medium, keyword?
Or better, yet, how about if I helped you code that up?
It would be nice to have an easy way to retrieve the vast art/music/writing stored here...

Becasue there are already too many forums and many of them have a very low traffic. We can?t have 1 dedicated forum for each and every thing.I will tell you a list of the forums I as a shroomerite, not as administrator would like to see, but I know as an administrator that it won?t happen:
Beer brewing Boomerang throwing PHP programming Growing Salvia divinorum Coctail mixing Construction of cultivation tools Jokes Linux Cooking ...
The list could go on and on... but it won?t happen, sorry.

The "Jokes" forum is called the OTD...
What about TheShroomHermit's Culinary Arts Forum idea? We do actually discuss cooking and food a lot around here. This one may actually have legs...

just for the record, i voted YES. i make music, and i'd like some feedback on my new stuff occasionally. i posted a week ago to the media thread, and haven't gotten ONE response. i think it's due to not very many peeps coming to that forum. media just sounds so cold and news-like...

I like it!
And Smack, I never never never meant to be offensive to you or your forum... I really didn't see the Media Room the same sort of forum I was proposing. I knew that mj posted a lot of his art there, but other than that it just seemed like posts about movies and music to me.
I think the name change will do a lot of good!
Sorry that I offended you, Smack!

Too many forums for what? Our own good? I don't see anything wrong with trying new forums...If they work, keep them and if they don't, delete them.
I think a lot of your suggestions were silly...boomerang throwing? I mean, I don't think you were sincere when you said you would actually like to see a boomerang throwing forum.
No one is saying that every topic deserves its own forum. But several topics certainly do. Cullinary arts being the best example right now.
Everybody eats. Everybody likes to eat. I'm sure everyone would love to hear about different foods and styles of cooking with and without drugs.
It really is a good idea.

LoL!
That's pretty sneaky, but I still feel a culinary arts forum would be a good idea. However, to easily differentiate it from the "Culinary Arts" forum, maybe it should simply be called "Cooking" forum.

They made a thing once where you could make your own forums. It was crazy. There were like thirty forums. In the Community section. It was crazy.
It only lasted a week, I think. Or less.

Aw, fuckit. If you can't beat em.. I just posted my little tomato recipe there. Cooking is definately a creative art, and it could only bring more traffic to the Creative Arts forum. So, fair enough is fair enough.

i think it's stupid...
my family goes to a cabin up in minnesota once or twice a year. it's always fun going through the small towns in the middle of nowhere... they have all these stores with crazy combinations like "Bob's Barbershop & Diesel Engine Repair", just crazy stuff. You just kinda say WTF? and laugh about it...
North Creek Tanning & Law Office... Susan's Sewing & Gun Repair... The Shroomery Art & Recipe Gallery...
WTF?

True story: I once worked at a combination vacuum cleaner repair and picture framing shop -- I was a picture framer while an art major in college.
It is pretty silly. I think Anno's strange sense of humor is showing itself...
