The 2 my friend used to use are:

They're for model glue for gluing in small spaces. Of course, you'd need several because they'd get all glued up and it's be easier to just throw it away each time then try cleaning the glue out of the syringe...right? :smile:

The other one he said was for oiling in small spaces.

And of course, always the: I dunno, I'm getting it for someone else.

Orchid growing is a reason to use anything you

throw on a flannel jacket, a mesh breathable hat, and say they are for pigs. i think bigs is a better bet than cattle. id get them from a farm supply store of a pharmacy anyway

I've always bought my syringes in the same pharmacy and the women who sold them to me, never asked any questions.

However last week, I wanted to get some new ones and the the actual owner and "chief-pharmacist" served me.
I said I needed the biggest syringes they have, as well as the biggest needles and he instantly asked "What for?".

I told I wanted to grow mushrooms and would need the syringes to inoculate the substrate jars.

He asked: "What kind of mushrooms?" and I said I wanted to to grow Stropharia regunosa annulata (to show him, I'm serious about it, and that I know at least the Latin name of it).

He looked somewhat surprised and then started to philosophy about all the mushroom shit he came across in his life, such as his participation in a mushroom seminar and several hikes to the mountains, to search for mushrooms and so on and that he has also cultivated oyster mushrooms and "Brown Caps" (directly translated from the German name. It's the above mentioned Stropharia) and blablabla...

I just wanted to leave, 'cause I didn't have any time...

No worries guy. They are not illegal. Check with your state laws first (in Canada no prescription is required) before starting. If all is OK then, being relaxed, walk into any pharmacy, ask for a case (that is 100pcs) of BD 10cc syringes w/18ga 1.5" needles. They will come in a yellow labeled box. Try to get away with 22ga. 1.5". They come in a black labeled box from BD and are one of the most popular intramuscular injection syringes.

That is what you will need to claim that they are for. You use Co enzyme Q10 (sorry for the spelling mistake) that you purchase abroad. It is 100% legal, injectable vitamins. No script required. You can ask for 18ga. but you may get more questions since they are typically used for animals. 18ga. is EXTREMELY large and PAINFULLY for IM injections. That is why I suggest 22ga with the same length needle.

The key is to be calm and stick to your guns. Keep my famous line "what, do you want me to lie to you and tell you something else?" if questioned too much. Be confident, practice extensively before going in so that it is second nature. Trust me, the first 3 or 4 times I bought 23ga. 1" syringes they questioned the heck out of me until I figured it out. Now I just walk in as look 'em straight in the eye and say "do you got a box of 23 gauge by one BD's?" and start looking at the wall behind the pharmacist where the syringes are stored in plain sight.

Please ask if you need something else. (If worse comes to worse drive to vet supply shop if you are too nervous or don't want to order through the mail).

you can tell them it's for solder paste. Some people do electronics as a hobby, and these days they use solder paste. What they do sometimes is get a blank circuit board, apply solder paste on the solder pads using a syringe with a large gauge, place the surface mount components on top of the solder pads, and then stick the whole thing in a modified toaster oven which is essentially what they call a reflow oven.

If they try to call your bluff and ask more detailed questions just say you read it in a guide on the net on how to make voice recorder or something.

Maybe its an old topic but I hope it can be useful for someone how I always bought dozens of 10cc syringes and needles in a pharmacy: I bought them for painting.

Sometimes I had been questioned back, that "How can one paint with syringes & needles?"
The answer is "With ecolin, a liquid watercolor. Syringes and needles are a must have to combine colors in little plastic coffe-cups. With teaspoons it is inaccurate and messy".

Oh, and its true, I really bought those for painting. :smile:
